Hillary Herrera, RN, BSN
Surgical Registered Nurse
Hillary has been a nurse for over 37 years. She has worked as a nursing assistant while going to school for her Licensed Practical Nurse licensure. She then further her education to become a Registered Nurse. After working in several areas, she settled in working in Women’s Services with her area of expertise as a Labor and Delivery nurse. At that time she pursued her Bachelor of Science degree.
As a child, Hilary enjoyed being around her mother who she considered the best example of a nurse. She had the opportunity to work in the same facility as her mother, who also served as her mentor.
During her 28year tenure at a level three hospital, she was a mentor, preceptor, senior charge nurse, assistant nurse manager and subject matter expert during the hospital conversion to electronic medical record system. She was also an adjunct faculty at Florida Hospital College of Health Sciences for several semesters.
Hillary worked with Dr. Christopher Walker in Labor and Delivery and they always spoke of working together when he opened his own practice. In 2016, she would work in a per diem role as his surgical nurse while still working in the hospital setting. Hilary left bedside nursing in mid 2018 and took some well deserved time off.
When Dr. Walker called on her to cover a surgery day in early 2019, her passion for the OR and caring for patients was reignited. She agreed to do a few more days. In August, Hillary joined the Beja Body team! Her primary role is the Surgical Registered Nurse, but she is enjoying learning the many services offered at Beja Body and works hard to deliver the optimal solution for the client.
