A Unique Approach to Restoring Healthy Skin
SAFE FOR ALL SKIN TONES: Treatments are safe and effective for use during all seasons and on all skin tones.
LOW DOWNTIME: You will experience mild redness post-treatment; however, you can continue with your daily activities immediately afterward. You can resume wearing makeup 24 hours after your treatment.
WHAT TO EXPECT: A single treatment session lasts no longer than 30 minutes. The number of sessions in a treatment program will depend on the individual patient, but typically varies between 3-4 sessions, every 4-6 weeks.
Venus Viva™ works with tiny pins that safely deliver heat (via NanoFractional RF™) through the skin’s surface. This creates tiny micro-dermal wounds, which the body then works to heal naturally. This process is what repairs signs of skin damage seen on the surface of the skin. And because the wounds are so small, the treatment is much more comfortable than lasers or chemical peels. The result is smoother, healthier skin with minimal downtime.
Venus Viva™ also works to target fine lines and wrinkles with the non-invasive DiamondPolar™ applicator*, which uses Multi-Polar Radio Frequency and Pulsed Electro Magnetic Fields to produce uniform heat on the skin. These two technologies work together to increase collagen and stimulate a natural healing response, resulting in a dramatic improvement to the skin with virtually no pain and no downtime.
After the Venus Viva™ Treatment
Most patients resume normal activities very shortly after a Venus Viva treatment. After the session, it is recommended to wait 12 hours before using any skin product and 24 hours before using a mineral make-up on the treated area. Sun exposure should be avoided for the first 48 hours after a treatment. Before and after treatments, an SPF of 30 should be used daily to protect treated areas.
The Venus Viva treatment process has been approved by both the FDA and Health Canada health agencies. This is based on the evidence collected through numerous studies demonstrating the safety and efficacy of this treatment method. The medicinal application of radiofrequency therapeutics, in general, is a treatment class that has proven safe over time. In comparison to other types of skin resurfacing services that can cause the skin to become weepy and ooze, radiofrequency allows only minimal skin sensitization and a substantially quicker return to normal activities.
Q – How long will the procedure last?
Each Venus Viva treatment session is completed in about 15 minutes. A full course of therapy can be achieved in a single session however most patients receive three or four treatment sessions in order to achieve maximal results.
Q – What can I expect after the procedure?
A slight redness and warming of the skin occurs throughout a treatment session. For most people, this fades within a few hours after the session. For others with slightly more sensitive skin, the redness can linger and be accompanied by a discomfort similar to a sunburn for up to 36 hours.
Q – What is the recovery like?
There should be a period of at least 12 hours between the end of a treatment session and the use of any skin care products. After 24 hours, mineral makeup can be applied to treated areas. Sun exposure should be avoided during the first 48 hours after a treatment session. Therefore, it is important to create a treatment schedule that will accommodate these after-treatment precautions.
The effects of a Venus Viva treatment will be visible immediately after a treatment session and will last for years. It should be expected, however, that new skin concerns can arise with time and repeat sessions are advisable.
Q – Are there risks?
Radiofrequency skin treatments are extremely low risk procedures. There is no cutting or application of medications that can cause the most common types of concerns involved with most medical procedures. The most common unwanted effect is skin redness and sensitivity, however these tend to pass quickly. There is a risk of slight skin discomfort for some patients during the procedure. This can be avoided by pretreating the target skin area with a topical analgesic.
Q – How soon can I return to work?
Most patients resume normal activities within 24 hours of a Venus Viva treatment session. For patients who wish to apply skin treatments or cosmetics before arriving at the workplace, it is important to remember that this may delay a return to work until the following day. For those in outdoor professions, 48 hours may be required before being able to return to work.
